Meld Merging is ideal for residents of the same unit submitting Meld requests for the same issue, or for residents submitting separate and differing issue melds that can be handled by the same vendor. It can also be used to combine similar jobs at a residence into one Meld (e.g., two different plumbing jobs).

Merging allows managers to copy information from one Meld to another, canceling one Meld while assuring residents their request is being handled. Through Merging, coordinators can address duplicate or related Melds more cleanly and efficiently.

Residents will be notified of the merge, with an explanation of the event and a chance to chat with management for clarification.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, Property Meld will transfer Meld information from the "Source Meld" to the "Destination Meld". See table at the bottom of this article for specifics.

IMPORTANT: Melds can be merged from any Open status into any Open status, and the two must share a Property. Completed or Canceled melds cannot be merged.

How to Merge a Meld

Step 1:

Click Melds and then click to open the Meld you would like to Merge with another Meld.

Step 2:

Click Merge Melds.

Step 3:

Select radio button  beside the Meld(s) that you wish to merge and click Merge Meld.

Step 4:

Confirm your merge by clicking on Merge Meld a second time.

NOTE: Once this is clicked, it cannot be reversed.

After Meld is merged, you will see a "Melds Successfully Merged" message, and the Meld that you merged is canceled with a "(Merged)" indicator behind the the title of the Meld.

Your merged melds will now be a single meld open meld with each brief description in the title of the meld.

NOTE: If you do not currently have Meld Merging, reach out to your Customer Success Manager at success@propertymeld.com for information on how you can upgrade.
