How Technicians Capture Resident Signatures in the Mobile App

This article covers how technicians can collect a resident’s signature directly in the Tech App after completing a meld. This feature was introduced to meet compliance requirements and provide confirmation that work was completed while the technician is still on site.

1. Finish the Meld

Once the technician has completed the work, they’ll tap Finish Meld.

2. Tap “Get Resident Signature”

On the Close Meld screen, technicians will see the option to Get Resident Signature or Skip Signature (if signature is optional).

If signature capture is required, and the technician attempts to skip, they will see a confirmation prompt.

3. Have the Resident Sign

A resident can sign using their finger directly on the technician’s mobile device.

4. Tap “Done” to Save the Signature

Once signed, the technician taps Done to complete the capture.

Where the Signature Appears

  • In the Tech App, the captured signature is visible on the meld.

  • In the web app, the signature is shown in the Meld Details panel and is also included on the printed version of the meld.

Additional Notes

  • Signature capture behavior is controlled at the org level in the web app by selecting one of three system settings:

    • Off (disabled)

    • Enabled (optional for technician)

    • Required (must capture or skip before completing the meld)

  • Only one signature can be captured per meld.

  • Signatures cannot be added or edited once a meld is closed.
