Overview
Property Meld uses the resident’s Vacated date in Propertyware to determine when that resident should be moved off the unit in Meld.
If the Vacated date in Propertyware is set to a date in the past, the resident will be moved off the unit in Property Meld after the sync takes place.
It is also important to know that other fields or actions in Propertyware do not trigger a move-out in Meld. If a resident is still appearing on the unit in Property Meld when you expected them to be removed, the first thing to review is the Vacated date in Propertyware.
How Move-Out Status Works
When a resident has a Vacated date in Propertyware that has already passed, Property Meld recognizes that resident as no longer active on the unit and moves them off the unit accordingly.
This means the Vacated date is the field that drives whether the resident remains on the unit in Meld or is removed.
For example, if the Vacated date in Propertyware was yesterday, Property Meld will treat that resident as moved out once the sync updates.
What Does Not Move a Resident Off the Unit in Property Meld
Some fields and actions in Propertyware may seem related to move-out status, but they do not cause the resident to be moved off the unit in Property Meld.
This includes:
Lease End Date
Scheduled Move Out Date
Deleting the lease
Deleting the resident contact
While these items may affect the resident record in Propertyware, they do not tell Property Meld that the resident has officially moved out of the unit.
Best Practice
If you need a resident to be moved off the unit in Property Meld, make sure the Vacated date is entered in Propertyware and that the date is in the past.
If only the Lease End Date is updated, a Scheduled Move Out Date is entered, or the lease or resident contact is deleted, the resident may still continue to appear on the unit in Property Meld.
Summary
Property Meld uses the Vacated date in Propertyware to determine when a resident should be moved off the unit.
If the Vacated date is in the past, the resident will be moved off the unit in Meld.
Lease End Date, Scheduled Move Out Date, deleting the lease, and deleting the resident contact do not trigger a move-out in Property Meld.
