Overview
Property Meld moves a resident off a unit based on the lease status coming from Buildium.
For a resident to be moved off the unit in Meld, the lease in Buildium must change from Active to Past. For that to happen, both the Lease To Date and the Move Out Date must be set to dates in the past.
This can be done either by manually updating those dates or by completing the End Lease flow in Buildium.
How Move-Out Status Works
In Buildium, a resident is moved off the unit in Property Meld once the lease is no longer considered Active and has moved to Past.
For the lease to become Past, both of the following must be true:
The Lease To Date must be in the past
The Move Out Date must be in the past
Once both dates are in the past and the systems sync, Property Meld will recognize the resident as no longer active on the unit and move them off accordingly.
Ways This Can Be Done in Buildium
There are two common ways this can be completed in Buildium.
One option is to manually update the Lease To Date and the Move Out Date so that both are set to dates in the past.
The other option is to go through the End Lease flow in Buildium, which updates the lease information so the resident can be moved off the unit in Property Meld once the sync completes.
Important Note
If only one of these dates is in the past, the lease may still remain Active, and the resident may continue to appear on the unit in Property Meld.
Both the Lease To Date and the Move Out Date must be in the past for the lease status to change to Past and for the resident to be removed from the unit in Meld.
Best Practice
If you need a resident to be moved off the unit in Property Meld, confirm that the lease is no longer Active in Buildium and that both the Lease To Date and Move Out Date are in the past.
If needed, you can either update those dates manually or complete the End Lease flow in Buildium.
