Overview
Property Meld looks at the resident’s move-out date in AppFolio to determine when that resident should be moved out in Meld.
If the move-out date in AppFolio is in the past, the resident will be moved out in Property Meld after the sync takes place.
It is also important to note that hiding a resident in AppFolio, or entering a Lease End Date, does not move that resident out in Property Meld. If a resident is still showing as active in Meld when you expected otherwise, the first thing to review is the move-out date in AppFolio.
How Move-Out Status Works
When a resident has a move-out date in AppFolio that has already passed, Property Meld recognizes that resident as no longer active and moves them out accordingly.
This means the move-out date is the field that drives whether the resident remains active in Meld or is moved out.
For example, if a resident’s move-out date in AppFolio was yesterday, Property Meld will treat that resident as moved out once the sync updates.

What Does Not Move a Resident Out in Property Meld
Some fields in AppFolio may appear related to a resident’s status, but they do not cause the resident to be moved out in Property Meld.
This includes:
Hiding the resident in AppFolio
Setting or updating the Lease End Date
While these changes may affect how the resident appears in AppFolio, they do not tell Property Meld that the resident has officially moved out.
Best Practice
If you need a resident to be moved out in Property Meld, make sure a move-out date has been entered in AppFolio and that the date is in the past.
If the resident is only hidden in AppFolio, or only has a Lease End Date entered, they may still continue to appear as active in Property Meld.
Summary
Property Meld uses the move-out date in AppFolio to determine when a resident should be moved out.
If the move-out date is in the past, the resident will be moved out in Meld.
Hiding a resident or setting a Lease End Date does not move the resident out in Property Meld.
