How to Disable Resident Maintenance Requests for Specific Property Groups in AppFolio

If you're looking to prevent residents from submitting maintenance requests only for select property groups (rather than disabling the feature entirely), here's how to do it:

Step 1: Ask AppFolio to Enable the Feature

Before anything else, you’ll need AppFolio to enable this option for your account.

1. Open the Support Chat in AppFolio.
2. Click on Knowledge Base > STACK INTEGRATIONS.
3. From here, type or ask: “Turn off the option for residents to submit maintenance requests.”
4. AppFolio support will activate the toggle on the backend, allowing property-level control.
    

Step 2: Access Work Order Settings

Once the feature is enabled:

1. Go to General Settings in AppFolio.
2. Scroll down and click Maintenance.
3. Select Work Order Settings
   • From here, select your applicable property groups and click "Disable for selected property groups."
