We’ve listened to your feedback and introduced several improvements to make managing estimates more flexible and efficient. You can now edit open estimates, apply markups, and even allow vendors to submit estimates without a formal request—just to name a few.
This article offers a general overview of what’s new. For step-by-step instructions, be sure to check out the individual “How to” guides linked throughout.
What Improvements Have Been Made?
-
Property Managers and Maintenance Coordinators (PMs and MCs) can now edit any open estimate, giving them more control over updates and changes as needed.
-
PMs and MCs can create estimates for their internal maintenance technicians, making it easier to manage in-house work.
-
PMs and MCs can now create estimates on behalf of a vendor, streamlining the process when vendors are unavailable to submit them directly.
-
A new "View Estimate" flyout displays relevant estimate information in a side panel, so users don’t lose context of the Meld they’re working in.
-
A "Default Markup" value can now be set in settings to save time and ensure consistency across estimates.
-
Estimates can now include a default markup for all line items, or users can override the markup for individual line items on any open estimate.
-
The "Request Owner Approval" process now opens in a flyout with the ability to remove line items, adjust markup, and include or exclude images—all in one place.
-
PMs and MCs can now preview the Owner Approval email directly within the "Request Owner Approval" flyout before sending.
-
Estimates are automatically attached as PDFs to the Owner Approval email, making them easier for owners to review.
-
When using bulk owner approval, a consolidated email is sent with multiple estimates attached as PDFs, reducing inbox clutter for owners.
-
A new chat interface for estimates mirrors the familiar Meld chat UI, allowing smoother communication between agents and vendors.
-
PMs and MCs can now re-request an estimate without needing to create a new Meld, saving time and reducing duplication.
- Vendors can now submit estimates for assigned Melds without a request from the Property Manager, giving them more autonomy and speeding up turnaround times.
-
Filtering now includes additional options to help you better track Melds—specifically those with or without estimates, as well as those still open. You can also now filter for estimates that have pending owner approval requests.
