When using the AppFolio integration with Property Meld, Property Groups play a key role in determining which properties, and optionally, which property groups, sync over to Property Meld. There are two distinct ways Property Groups function within this integration:
To sync properties from AppFolio into Property Meld, they must be included in a Property Group that is explicitly connected within AppFolio's integration settings. You can manage this from:
General Settings → Manage AppFolio Stack™ Integrations → Find Property Meld → Connection Settings
Key Rules:
A property must belong to at least one included Property Group to sync to Property Meld.
If a property belongs to both an included and an excluded group, it will still export.
Properties in only excluded groups, or not part of any group at all, will not export.
Impact on Owners and Residents:
Owners and residents are exported only if linked to a property in an included group.
If an owner is tied to multiple properties (some included, some excluded), the owner will sync, but only appear under the included property in Property Meld.
By default, only the properties within the selected groups sync to Property Meld, not the Property Groups themselves.
However, if your organization would like the actual Property Group names to be imported along with their associated properties (e.g., for filtering or organizational purposes inside Meld), this option can be enabled manually.
